About Me
I was born on February 1, 1989, and raised in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee, in a neighborhood called EastDale. My parents, Yolanda and Al-Kareem Sr., laid the foundation. My mom ran her own hair salon, always hustling and making sure everyone looked fresh, while my dad was out there making moves as a Black rights activist and combat medic in Vietnam. He was sharp with his style too—voted “Best Dressed” in his class. So, you already know I was destined to be fly.
EastDale wasn’t always rough, but it didn’t take long before the streets got real. What used to be a solid Black middle-class hood turned into a battleground with gang violence and drugs flooding the block. I had to keep my head on a swivel, learning to balance the books at Brainerd High while also keeping up with the street knowledge. That’s where the survival game started.
Fast forward, I knew I had to do something different. That’s when Wealthy Gang was born—a movement built out of vengeance and a deep hunger to tell our stories. Me and my crew? We’ve been through it all. We’ve seen the highs of getting money and bagging pretty girls, but we’ve also been deep in the struggle. We’ve lost homies, been broke, faced heartbreak, and even hit rock bottom, but we never folded.
Wealthy Gang is more than just a name; it’s a statement. We’re here to show the world that we came from nothing, survived the toughest streets, and still managed to rise up. Our lives are a testament to resilience, grit, and the hustle. Through my music and fashion, I’m giving you a front-row seat to our journey. I want you to feel every victory, every loss, and every bit of the grind we put in.
This is for anyone who’s ever been counted out, knocked down, or left in the dust. Wealthy Gang is proof that you can make it out the mud and still shine.
